Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Viktor Poletayew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wiktor Placheta!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poletayew misses with a body kick.
Poletayew throws a low kick but it's checked well by Placheta.
Poletayew has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Placheta finds it's way round the side to connect with Poletayew's head.
Poletayew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Placheta scores with a jab to the head.
Placheta shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poletayew as he jumps to the side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poletayew shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Poletayew was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Poletayew is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Placheta will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Placheta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poletayew misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Placheta tries to bench press Poletayew off him but Poletayew keeps the position.
Poletayew in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Poletayew looks up at the clock and then as Placheta takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Poletayew smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
You can see the frustration on Placheta's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Placheta is not content to let Poletayew control the position.
Placheta sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Poletayew wants to control but Placheta is keeping him busy.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Poletayew lands a nice short elbow.
Poletayew stops Placheta from getting back to his feet.
Poletayew is trying to control. Placheta wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Placheta on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Poletayew is looking to take a break and control but Placheta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Poletayew is thwarting Placheta's attempts to control the position.

Poletayew stands up and beckons Placheta to join him on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Placheta enables Poletayew to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Placheta manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Placheta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Poletayew wants to pass the guard but Placheta is keeping the position.
Poletayew trying to control the position from guard on top but Placheta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Poletayew content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Poletayew tries to free his leg and advance position but Placheta is retaining full guard.
Placheta wants to stand but Poletayew is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viktor Poletayew dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Poletayew throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Placheta was covering up waiting for the punch and Poletayew finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Poletayew has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Placheta is on top in guard.


Poletayew looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Poletayew on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Poletayew tries to get out of the position.
Poletayew wants to control but Placheta passes easily into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poletayew is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Placheta thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Poletayew's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Viktor Poletayew overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Placheta maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Poletayew could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Placheta has cracked it and Poletayew is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Placheta!
