Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wayne Gracie (ranked 2144 p4p, 253 weight class) and Soul Jah (ranked 1015 p4p, 131 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Thriller by Michael Jackson. Jah is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wayne Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Soul Jah!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target.
Gracie takes a swing at Jah's ribcage but misses.
Gracie throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jah makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gracie really felt that one!
Gracie digs a good hook to Jah's body.
Gracie scores with a body shot.
Jah takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jah appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Gracie throws an overhand right that lands on Jah's shoulder, as Jah tries to avoid the shot.
Jah throws out a counter right but Gracie avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jah has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Gracie throws a front kick that sends Jah stumbling back into the cage.

Gracie lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Jah avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
We've been hearing reports that Gracie has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Soul Jah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gracie throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Jah saw that one coming.
Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jah replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Gracie blocks it well.
Jah takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jah wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.

Gracie postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Jah controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jah holds on and takes a little breather.
Jah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jah is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jah tries to pass to full mount but Gracie defends it.

Jah stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jah wants it to stay on the feet.
Crunch! Gracie slams his shin into Jah's torso.

Gracie misses with a looping left.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jah manages to avoid it.

Gracie lands a leg kick that knocks Jah off balance momentarily.
Jah blocks the body kick.
Gracie moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jah slips a straight right by Gracie.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jah! But no joy.
Gracie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jah wants to counter the offense by Gracie and move into the clinch position.
Gracie connects with a solid leg kick.
Jah on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jah has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gracie finds it's way round the side to connect with Jah's head.
Jah takes one to the chin there.

Gracie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jah shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jah can do to turn this around?
Gracie lands with a straight right. Jah didn't see that one coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gracie scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jah doesn't seem bothered though.

Soul Jah has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jah wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jah is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Gracie is staying active.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.

Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Soul Jah was interviewed post fight and said 'Dude tried to bite my dick off! Unreal man!'.
