Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Simpson (ranked 25155 p4p, 221 weight class) and Yu Raizan (ranked 6963 p4p, 212 weight class). Kris Simpson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raizan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Simpson pinned against the cage. Simpson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Raizan avoids the body shot from Simpson.
Raizan throws a big counter head kick but Simpson avoids it with no problem.
Simpson checks the leg kick.
Raizan dives in and grabs Simpson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Simpson pushes down on Raizan's head and hops out.
Simpson doesn't manage to clinch there - Raizan circles away.

Kris Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yu Raizan.

Raizan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Simpson.
Simpson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Simpson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raizan avoids it really well and circles away.

Simpson lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Raizan enables Simpson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Raizan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Raizan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Simpson is working away from the top position though.

Simpson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Raizan defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson is thwarting Raizan's attempts to control the position.
Raizan tries to roll over but Simpson keeps him under control.
Raizan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Simpson wants to pass the guard but Raizan is defending well.
Simpson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Raizan is trying to maintain the position but Simpson is very close to passing his half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Simpson wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Simpson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Raizan to the mat! Raizan manages to get full guard.
Raizan controls Simpson momentarily but Simpson frees himself.

Simpson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Raizan wants to stand and escape but Simpson is having none of it.
Raizan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simpson is one step ahead there.
Simpson wants to control from the top but Raizan keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Raizan moves into range and clinches up with Simpson.
Simpson avoiding damage.
Raizan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Simpson gets underhooks to prevent Raizan's takedown attempt.

Simpson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Raizan darts in looking for a takedown but Simpson gets double underhooks and turns Raizan into the cage.

Simpson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Raizan tries to score a body lock takedown but Simpson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Raizan is breathing heavily.

Simpson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Simpson leaves Raizan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Simpson closes the distance and pushes Raizan back into the cage.
Simpson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Raizan is sitting in close to Simpson's body. Simpson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Raizan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Raizan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Simpson.
