Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coli Addison (ranked 7111 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Hatmann (ranked 4836 p4p, 447 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Coli Addison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryan Hatmann!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Addison drives through and clinches with Hatmann against the cage.

Addison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Addison fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hatmann wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Addison.
Addison could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hatmann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Addison swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hatmann or perhaps it was just good defense by Addison, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Addison fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Addison takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hatmann doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Addison counters by clinching up.
Hatmann prevents a body shot from Addison.
Addison keeps control of Hatmann as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hatmann tries to break the clinch but Addison is controlling the position.
Come on Addison - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Addison moves into the clinch successfully.
Addison gets underhooks to prevent Hatmann's takedown attempt.
Addison drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hatmann gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hatmann tries to stall but Addison uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Addison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hatmann wants to clinch up but Addison keeps it at a distance.
Hatmann moves out of range as Addison throws a body kick.

Hatmann moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Addison - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hatmann on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hatmann is trying to break the clinch but Addison is controlling him.

Addison manages to pull guard.
Addison throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Addison pulls Hatmann in close to his closed guard and prevents Hatmann from doing any damage or advancing position.
Addison's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Addison is looking to stand up but Hatmann isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Addison pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Addison forces Hatmann back against the cage and clinches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Addison.

Addison breaks the clinch.
Hatmann fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hatmann shoots in looking for a takedown but Addison manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hatmann's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hatmann shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Addison defends it nicely.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Addison stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Addison wants it to stay on the feet.

It looked like Addison was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Addison throws a right and a left that both miss.

Addison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Addison is trying to control. Hatmann wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Addison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hatmann.
It looked like Addison wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Addison creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Hatmann is looking to regain half guard here but Addison keeps moving and retains side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Addison misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Addison pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Addison looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hatmann manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Hatmann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Addison swivels and escapes.

Addison fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hatmann to the ground. Addison is now in Hatmann's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Addison connects with a couple of short punches.
Addison postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hatmann keeping moving, preventing Addison from controlling successfully.
Addison trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Addison not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Addison seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hatmann for as long as he can get away with.
Addison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hatmann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Addison changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hatmann tries to avoid it but Addison manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hatmann to the ground. Hatmann escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Addison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hatmann manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Addison throws a head kick that misses.
Addison blocks a leg kick.
It looked like Addison was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Addison fails with a takedown attempt.
Hatmann has his takedown stuffed

and Addison counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Addison thows a huge punch but Hatmann dodges it nicely.

Hatmann manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Addison keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Hatmann wants to take the fight to the mat but Addison manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Coli Addison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Hatmann.

Addison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hatmann is defended easily by Addison.
Hatmann ducks under a wild hook from Addison.
Hatmann tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Addison shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hatmann is trying to defend but Addison finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Coli Addison.
Well Addison has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
