Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wayde West (ranked 14145 p4p, 644 weight class) and Eragon Brom (ranked 5968 p4p, 528 weight class). West comes to the cage accompanied by Sober. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayde West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eragon Brom!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brom misses with a two punch combination.
West shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brom as he avoids it easily.
Brom tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
West pushes Brom away with a front kick.

Brom tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch.

West breaks from the clinch.
Brom wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance.
Brom tries to clinch but West is having none of it.

Brom gets caught flat footed, as West shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Brom trying to control the position.
Brom looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
West not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as West accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
West has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
West throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brom works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brom can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
West controlling from the top position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brom shoots in for a takedown but West shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

West has Brom up against the cage in a clinch.
Brom tries to land knees in the clinch but West avoids the damage to the body.
Brom gets underhooks to prevent West's takedown attempt.

West jumps guard.
Brom missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
West is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brom wants to control but West passes into side.
West is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brom's shoulder. That is not cool.
Brom avoids any damage from the ground and pound of West.

West has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Brom is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. West yanks on the arm and Brom is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by West.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Wayde West!
After the fight, Wayde West was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
