The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Irwin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bull to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bull with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bull throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bull loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bull missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bull throwing strikes from guard but Irwin blocks nicely.
Bull postures up in Irwin's guard and throws a big left but Irwin blocks it.
Irwin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bull is looking to work some ground and pound but Irwin has wrist control.

Bull postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Irwin looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Bull passes Irwin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bull thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Irwin's head.
Bull has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bull takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Bull misses with a head shot. Irwin uses the momentum to regain guard.
Bull postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bull in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bull scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bull accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bull cracks Irwin with a solid left hand.
Bull throws an elbow that misses. Irwin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bull's guard. Nice move by Irwin!

Bull looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Irwin stays in close to Bull's body and controls the position.

Bull had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Irwin defends it easily.

Bull has his foot on Irwin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Irwin works his way back into a safe position though.
Irwin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bull is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Irwin controls from within his opponent's guard.

Bull is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Irwin frees his head nicely. Oh but Bull has switched to an armbar! Irwin is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
