Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Chambers (ranked 24547 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy McDaniel (ranked 3820 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rory Chambers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy McDaniel!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDaniel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chambers.
McDaniel throws a right hand that Chambers ducks under and follows up with a left that Chambers also avoids with ease.
Chambers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McDaniel defends it nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDaniel is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Chambers breaks the clinch.
Chambers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and McDaniel counters with a single leg into guard. Chambers didn't expect that.

McDaniel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Chambers looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McDaniel puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDaniel is thwarting Chambers's attempts to control the position.
Chambers is looking to improve his position.
McDaniel is trying to control the action in half guard but Chambers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

McDaniel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Chambers is concentrating on defense, preventing McDaniel from advancing position.

McDaniel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chambers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McDaniel passes to side control.

Chambers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McDaniel trying to pass the guard but Chambers defending well.
McDaniel scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Chambers is looking to control McDaniel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chambers avoid being mounted?

McDaniel stands up out of the half guard.
A solid body kick from McDaniel.
McDaniel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chambers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McDaniel scores with a spinning back kick!

McDaniel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chambers, pushing him back against the cage.

Chambers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McDaniel smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rory Chambers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McDaniel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McDaniel lands in his opponent's guard.
Chambers trying to keep a closed guard but McDaniel is proving a slippery customer.
Chambers is trying to hold McDaniel in close to prevent damage but McDaniel has managed to pass into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Chambers is refusing to be controlled, as McDaniel sits in half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Chambers gets tackled into the cage by McDaniel. McDaniel maintains the clinch.
McDaniel is trying to pull guard but Chambers turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Chambers is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McDaniel is defending well for now.
Chambers tries to break the clinch but McDaniel is controlling the position.
McDaniel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Chambers struggles to land a body shot inside as McDaniel controls his hands.
McDaniel is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chambers gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rory Chambers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy McDaniel.
McDaniel digs a right hand underneath Chambers's ribcage. Chambers let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Chambers lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDaniel is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
McDaniel jumps guard but Chambers turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Chambers stops McDaniel from standing up.

McDaniel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Chambers distracts McDaniel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
McDaniel wants to get back to his feet but Chambers passes into half guard.

Chambers is looking for a kimura but McDaniel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chambers to get the leverage.
McDaniel tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Jeremy McDaniel has got the better of the ground game so far.
Chambers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDaniel wants to improve his position but Chambers is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chambers tries to stand but his hand is stuck under McDaniel.

Chambers is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Chambers prevents McDaniel from improving his position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

McDaniel is trying to control but Chambers passes into side control!
Chambers is chipping away with strikes.
McDaniel takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
McDaniel is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chambers is controlling him well.

Chambers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chambers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Chambers wants to stand but McDaniel has his arm trapped.

McDaniel can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McDaniel scores with a head kick. Chambers tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Chambers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McDaniel did well to prevent Chambers getting side control.
McDaniel pushes Chambers off but Chambers dives into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McDaniel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chambers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Chambers swings around for an armbar but McDaniel sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Chambers's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rory Chambers will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Chambers throws a series of punches but McDaniel avoids them all with ease.

McDaniel has managed to clinch.

McDaniel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chambers uses from the top position.
Chambers won't allow McDaniel to sweep him here.

McDaniel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McDaniel wants to sweep here but Chambers controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chambers postures up in McDaniel's guard and throws a big left but McDaniel blocks it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chambers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Chambers throws a big elbow that misses.
McDaniel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chambers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Chambers stops McDaniel from standing up.

McDaniel working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Chambers has passed into half guard!
McDaniel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chambers slips a nice elbow through McDaniel's hands, connecting with McDaniel's forehead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Chambers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Chambers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McDaniel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McDaniel is trying to get back to full guard.

Chambers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McDaniel wants to get back to full guard but Chambers has passed into side control.
McDaniel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McDaniel wants to control but Chambers postures up.

Chambers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McDaniel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Chambers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McDaniel, who protects the arm well.
McDaniel tries to bench press Chambers off him but Chambers keeps the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McDaniel darts in and clinches Chambers up against the cage.
McDaniel lands a body shot.
Chambers is trying to drag McDaniel to the mat but McDaniel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Chambers goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McDaniel tries to throw a body punch but Chambers avoids it by throwing McDaniel back against the cage.
Chambers gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McDaniel.

Chambers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rory Chambers showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Chambers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
