Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Quirez (ranked 5092 p4p, 489 weight class) and Killua Zoldyk (ranked 5363 p4p, 497 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quirez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Quirez slaps away a takedown attempt from Zoldyk, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Quirez or perhaps it was just good defense by Zoldyk, which made it look bad.
Quirez goes for a double leg but Zoldyk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zoldyk continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Quirez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch combination from Zoldyk misses.
Zoldyk connects with a good right hand that stumbles Quirez. Quirez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quirez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Quirez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zoldyk's half guard.

Quirez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zoldyk sees it coming and defends easily.

Zoldyk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quirez is working away from the top position though.

Quirez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zoldyk has managed to free his arm - good work.
Zoldyk is refusing to be controlled, as Quirez sits in half guard.
Zoldyk is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zoldyk holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Quirez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Zoldyk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Quirez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Quirez's back!
Zoldyk is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Zoldyk is cranking Quirez's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Quirez! He's tightened the choke and Quirez is tapping out!
