Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jet Chan (ranked 5539 p4p, 530 weight class) and Shane Tull (ranked 7286 p4p, 588 weight class). Shane Tull will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Tull!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tull looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tull fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Chan drives through and clinches with Tull against the cage.
Chan lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Shane Tull has been cut.
Tull blocks a body shot from Chan.
Tull blocks an uppercut.
The referee is keeping an eye on Chan - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Tull is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chan is defending well.
Jet Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Tull.
Chan keeps control of Tull as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chan struggles to land a body shot inside as Tull controls his hands.

Tull fails with a takedown attempt.
Chan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Chan wants to slow Tull down by chopping away at his legs.

Tull managing to block the knees to the body from Chan.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Tull cracks Chan with a good jab.
Tull stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chan.

Jet Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chan drives through and clinches with Tull against the cage.

Tull drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chan pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Chan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Tull rushes Chan and presses him up against the cage.
Chan struggles to land a body shot inside as Tull controls his hands.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Chan breaks the clinch.
A slapping leg kick lands for Chan.
Tull shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chan sprawls well. Chan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tull gets slowly back to his feet.

Tull has managed to clinch.
Chan misses with a punch to the body.
Chan has a couple of punches blocked by Tull.
Chan misses with a body punch.
Chan pressing his opponent against the cage.
Chan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tull's elbow.

Tull tries to counter with a clinch but Chan shakes him off and moves away.

As Tull backs away, Chan returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
A left and a right from Tull both land. Nice combination.
Chan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tull connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Chan throws a series of punches but Tull moves out of range.
Tull shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tull gets tackled into the cage by Chan. Chan maintains the clinch.
Chan swings wildly with an uppercut but Tull uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tull is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tull is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Chan is defending well for now.

Chan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tull can do to turn this around?

We've been informed that Tull has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Chan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tull on the ground.
Chan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tull is proving hard to escape from.
Chan advances to half guard.
Chan wants to stand but Tull has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chan in particular looking to stall.
Tull is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chan wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Tull uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Tull manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chan manages to get himself to full guard.

Tull is fighting to break Chan's control of his arms but Chan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tull slips nicely into half guard.
Tull is trying to control the action in half guard but Chan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tull decides to stand up.

Chan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Tull tries to kick Chan off but Chan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well Chan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
