PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johannes Boe (ranked 7458 p4p, 199 weight class) and Heitor Machado (ranked 5350 p4p, 143 weight class). Boe comes into the arena with Agnes - Release Me blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johannes Boe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heitor Machado!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado shoots in for a takedown but Boe shows good takedown defense.
Boe lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Machado has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Machado avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Boe misses with a hook. Machado ducked under it nicely.
Machado tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Sloppy strikes from Boe. Those never looked like landing.
Boe throws a hook but Machado avoids it easily.
Machado is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Boe throws an overhand right that lands on Machado's shoulder, as Machado tries to avoid the shot.
Machado throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Boe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've been told by Boe's head coaches at Team Beta Fail that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machado shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boe defends it nicely.
Johannes Boe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heitor Machado.
Boe scores with a push kick.

Machado is looking to clinch but Boe is avoiding it.
Nice defenses there by Machado.
Boe throws a series of punches but Machado avoids them all with ease.
Machado misses with a takedown attempt
and Boe counters with an outside leg kick.

Boe lands a big head kick that sends Machado tumbling to the mat! Boe takes a step backwards and waves Machado back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Machado is rocked!

It looks like Heitor Machado has been cut.
Boe works Machado's body with a nice hook.
Machado looks winded!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Both fighters circling a little - Boe finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Boe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Machado circles away quickly and effectively.
Machado dodges the punch combination from Boe.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Machado looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Boe steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Machado is out on his feet! Boe sets himself and nearly takes Machado's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
