Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Kristian (ranked 17644 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Trendall (ranked 7985 p4p, 0 weight class). Kristian kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Oasis - Colombia. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trendall uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kristian.

Kristian has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kristian lands a takedown into guard.
Trendall is looking to stand back up but Kristian counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Trendall.

Kristian prevents Trendall from standing back up.
Trendall is looking to get back to full guard here but Kristian has managed to pass to side control instead.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trendall is looking to regain half guard here but Kristian keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kristian just content to control the position.

Trendall takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kristian lands a nice forearm strike.

Kristian connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Trendall some visible discomfort.

Kristian has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Trendall!
Trendall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kristian lands a big shot there that rocks Trendall but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Trendall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kristian. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kristian is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Trendall has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Trendall seems to have recovered his senses.

Kristian is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Trendall can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
