Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akio Kurosaki (ranked 3064 p4p, 333 weight class) and Raul Gracie (ranked 4815 p4p, 461 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akio Kurosaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki misses with a body kick.
Kurosaki tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kurosaki throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gracie.
Kurosaki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kurosaki throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kurosaki misses with a hook

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kurosaki pulls Gracie in to control the position.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurosaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie is in close to Kurosaki's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Kurosaki keeps moving.
Gracie is fighting to break Kurosaki's control of his arms but Kurosaki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kurosaki looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Kurosaki is keeping the position.
Kurosaki is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kurosaki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kurosaki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gracie's hands.

Gracie throws a wild left hand from mount and Kurosaki manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kurosaki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Kurosaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kurosaki tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gracie working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kurosaki is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurosaki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kurosaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kurosaki looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kurosaki wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Kurosaki is keeping the position.
Gracie pushes down on Kurosaki's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gracie trying to control from half guard but Kurosaki is working away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Kurosaki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kurosaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Raul Gracie will probably get the nod.

Kurosaki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Gracie blocks a head kick by Kurosaki.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gracie is looking to advance position but Kurosaki won't allow it.
Raul Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Kurosaki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.
Kurosaki tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.
Gracie wants to control but Kurosaki is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kurosaki tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily.
Akio Kurosaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kurosaki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kurosaki takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kurosaki manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Kurosaki in his guard.

Kurosaki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kurosaki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kurosaki wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kurosaki's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kurosaki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Raul Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kurosaki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Some bone on bone action there as Gracie checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A jab lands there for Kurosaki.
Kurosaki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kurosaki fails to land with a series of punches.
Gracie slips a straight right by Kurosaki.
Kurosaki misses with a straight right.
Kurosaki is looking to land body kicks.
Gracie jabs Kurosaki to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gracie lands with a hook. Kurosaki tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Akio Kurosaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurosaki throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
And Gracie tries to counter it with a takedown but Kurosaki pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurosaki misses with a kick to the body.
Kurosaki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Gracie closes the distance and pushes Kurosaki back into the cage.
Gracie scores with a shot to the side of Kurosaki's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kurosaki uses from the top position.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kurosaki passes into half guard.
Gracie tries to roll over but Kurosaki keeps him under control.
Kurosaki trying to advance position but Gracie counters by regaining guard.
Kurosaki looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kurosaki is keeping the position for now.

Gracie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kurosaki pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kurosaki throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Kurosaki misses with a hook

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gracie pushes down on Kurosaki's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kurosaki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gracie moves into full mount! Kurosaki won't be happy about that!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie prevents Kurosaki from getting the reversal.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kurosaki is looking to escape.
Gracie working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Kurosaki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kurosaki is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kurosaki stops Gracie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Gracie is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kurosaki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

And that's the end of the fight!
Raul Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gracie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
