The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva works over McDiggle's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Buster McDiggle has been cut.
Silva looks to land a left hand but McDiggle moved out of range nicely.
It looked like McDiggle was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Silva.
McDiggle needs to keep his hands up - Silva had a free shot at his head there.
Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Silva lands a big head kick that sends McDiggle tumbling to the mat! Silva takes a step backwards and waves McDiggle back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McDiggle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McDiggle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McDiggle postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Silva stops McDiggle from passing to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McDiggle asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Silva throws a hook but McDiggle avoids it easily.

McDiggle feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, McDiggle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
McDiggle wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva lands a left and a right that send McDiggle crashing to the mat, dazed. Silva thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

McDiggle fires out a quick counter leg kick but Silva just manages to avoid it.

It looked like McDiggle wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
McDiggle with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silva to score with a decent uppercut.

Buster McDiggle's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Silva connects with a solid leg kick.

McDiggle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva lands a really nice looking cross but McDiggle seems unphased.

A quick step to the side and McDiggle tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
McDiggle takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
