Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Slayer (ranked 5006 p4p, 507 weight class) and Nikos Passakos (ranked 4334 p4p, 468 weight class). Passakos has chosen Def Leppard - Women as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Slayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nikos Passakos!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Passakos looks to throw the jab but Slayer is out of range.
Slayer tries to counter with a takedown but Passakos is quick to defend against it.
Passakos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Slayer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Slayer blocks a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Passakos lands a glancing blow to the side of Slayer's head.
Passakos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Slayer misses with a takedown
and Passakos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like John Slayer has been cut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Slayer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slayer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Passakos pinned against the cage. Passakos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Decent striking displayed by Passakos there.
Nikos Passakos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slayer goes for a double leg but Passakos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Passakos continues to drive forward.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slayer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Passakos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slayer.
Passakos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Passakos wants it to stay on the feet.
Passakos doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Slayer shoots in for a double leg but Passakos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Passakos.
A shot to the liver by Passakos. Beautiful body shot.
Slayer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Passakos cracks Slayer with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Slayer falls to his knees and Passakos doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikos Passakos!
A relieved looking Nikos Passakos thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
