PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Lesnar (ranked 754 p4p, 106 weight class) and Mr Sandman (ranked 1229 p4p, 161 weight class). Sandman has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Sandman!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandman misses with a looping right.
Sandman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Lesnar counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lesnar's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sandman throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Sandman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lesnar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sandman.
Sandman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sandman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lesnar connects with a decent elbow.
Sandman is looking to reverse the position.
Sandman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sandman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sandman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lesnar scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Lesnar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sandman wants to get back to his feet.
Lesnar is looking to take a break and control but Sandman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sandman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sandman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lesnar is controlling Sandman's posture.
Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sandman is looking to improve his position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sandman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sandman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there.
Lesnar slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Sandman.
Lesnar works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sandman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lesnar wants to control the pace but Sandman is squirming around nicely.

Lesnar fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lesnar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sandman in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Lesnar lands a big elbow.

BOOM! Lesnar connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Sandman is trying desperately to improve position.
Lesnar lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Sandman is rocked!
Lesnar with a couple of short strikes.
Sandman is still in real trouble! Can Lesnar finish him?
Lesnar pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Sandman wants to hold on but Lesnar pushes him away.
Lesnar postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Sandman out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Lesnar goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Lesnar!
Mark Lesnar decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Mr Sandman had this to say: 'I want my previous manager Mac Little back!'.
