Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Lawrence (ranked 1799 p4p, 209 weight class) and Ball Licker (ranked 3346 p4p, 350 weight class). Lawrence kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Defeat Does Not Exist In This Dojo, Does It?. Ball Licker struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Johnny Lawrence has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Licker gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Licker tries to score a body lock takedown but Lawrence shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Lawrence pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Licker takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Lawrence darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Licker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawrence defends it nicely.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Licker has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lawrence creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
