Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Friedrichsen (ranked 1011 p4p, 135 weight class) and Tonkei Oloishona (ranked 22073 p4p, 511 weight class). Oloishona has chosen Keleya as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Oloishona tries a quick counter leg kick but Friedrichsen is wise to it.
Oloishona scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Oloishona ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Oloishona throws a body shot but no joy.
Friedrichsen throws a right hand that Oloishona ducks under and follows up with a left that Oloishona also avoids with ease.
Oloishona let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Friedrichsen throws a series of punches but Oloishona moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oloishona has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Erik Friedrichsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Friedrichsen throws out a loose jab but Oloishona uses good head movement to avoid it.
Friedrichsen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Oloishona is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Friedrichsen rather than just go for the knockout.

Friedrichsen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Oloishona sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Oloishona. That's going to slow Friedrichsen down.

Friedrichsen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Oloishona is able to avoid easily.

Oloishona feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Friedrichsen's calf.
Oloishona dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Friedrichsen takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Oloishona has closed the distance and engaged Friedrichsen in a clinch.
Oloishona tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Oloishona pushes Friedrichsen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
I was talking to Friedrichsen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Friedrichsen prevents a body shot from Oloishona.

Oloishona breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Oloishona bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Friedrichsen's head backwards.

Erik Friedrichsen's cut is getting worse.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Friedrichsen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Oloishona - the referee stops the clock and Friedrichsen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Oloishona. Friedrichsen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Friedrichsen attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Oloishona throws out a counter right but Friedrichsen avoids it with no problem.
Oloishona pounces like a tiger and cracks Friedrichsen with a vicious hook! Friedrichsen is down but not out! Oloishona follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tonkei Oloishona!
After winning the bout, Tonkei Oloishona thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
