The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin is looking to land body kicks.
Reid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reid clinches with his opponent.

Reid is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Putin throws a knee to the head but misses.
Putin landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Reid escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Putin throws the kick towards the body but Reid avoids it.

Putin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Putin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Putin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reid manages to avoid it.

Hamish Reid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putin defending well as Reid loads up on a big left hand.
Putin just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd cheers as Putin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reid doesn't seem phased though.
Putin slips a straight right by Reid.
Putin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Putin scores with a push kick.
Reid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Putin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Putin throws a shot from downtown. Reid moves away and avoids it.
Reid lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Putin takes one on the button.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Putin only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Reid tries to clinch up but Putin circles away and keeps his distance.

Putin tries to bum rush Reid with a series of wild strikes but Reid uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reid loads up on a big right hand but Putin slips the punch.
Putin throws a counter combo.
Putin misses the body punch
and Reid counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Reid is pawing at Putin, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Putin's nose. Putin is badly hurt! Reid pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Putin tries desperately to hold on but Reid is relentless in his assault! As Putin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Reid away and this one is in the books!
