The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kid gets the takedown into side control.
Kid slows the pace down.
Kidd is looking for a sweep.
Kid looks up at the clock and then as Kidd takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kid smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kidd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kid wants to work for an arm triangle but Kidd is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kidd has a hand on Kid's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kid takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Kid lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kidd wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Kid is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kidd defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Kid looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kidd has picked Kid up and slammed him! Kid can't keep hold of the triangle and Kidd manages to pass to side control!

A little feinted left hand from Kidd on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kid closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kidd did well to prevent Kid getting side control.
Kid has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kid is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kidd with him. Kidd is trying to defend but Kid has an arm under the chin now! Kidd grimaces and is forced to tap out!
