The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon fails with the takedown.
Lyon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gordon's waist but Gordon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lyon off to one side.
Lyon goes for a double leg but Gordon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gordon continues to drive forward.

Lyon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lyon lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
