The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarado gets tackled into the cage by Gottfried. Gottfried maintains the clinch.
Gottfried tries for a takedown but Alvarado manages to get underhooks.

Gottfried should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Alvarado seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Gottfried dives in for a single leg takedown but Alvarado sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Alvarado has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Gottfried is on him like a limpet, forcing Alvarado back against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gottfried accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
