And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Alvaroo!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maskey scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Eddie Alvaroo has been cut.
Maskey doesn't manage to clinch there - Alvaroo circles away.

Alvaroo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maskey to the mat! Maskey manages to get full guard.

Maskey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Maskey is trying to keep Alvaroo in close.
Maskey wants to hit a switch here but Alvaroo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Maskey there!

Alvaroo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Maskey looks a forlorn figure.

Alvaroo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Alvaroo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Maskey's face.

Alvaroo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maskey sprawls well initially but Alvaroo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Let's hope that Alvaroo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Alvaroo.

Alvaroo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Maskey is in bad spot here.
Eddie Alvaroo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Yet more stalling tactics from Alvaroo.

Alvaroo is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Maskey knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Maskey for a finish.

Alvaroo just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Alvaroo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maskey, pushing him back against the cage.

Maskey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Maskey gets caught napping as Alvaroo dives in and scores a takedown. Maskey manages to retain guard.
Alvaroo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Alvaroo swats away the attempt to clinch by Maskey.

Alvaroo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alvaroo showed some decent athleticism there.
Alvaroo is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Alvaroo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Alvaroo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee warns Maskey that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Maskey is bucking up trying to escape but Alvaroo cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

BOOM! Alvaroo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Alvaroo lands a big shot there that rocks Maskey but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Eddie Alvaroo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
