The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santos thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Knight if he has to take too many more of those.

Knight closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Santos manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Knight keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Knight tries to break free but Santos pushes him back against the cage.
Knight is trying to pull guard but Santos has him pressed against the cage.
Knight gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Santos.

Knight jumps guard and drags Santos to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santos throws a big elbow that misses.
Knight is controlling Santos's posture.
Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Santos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Santos is looking to work some ground and pound but Knight has wrist control.
Knight is pulling down on Santos's head. It's preventing any offense from Santos, at least for the moment.
Knight keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.
Santos wanted to stand there but Knight had control of the position.
Knight is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Santos has taken the fight to the clinch.
Knight taking a breather.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Santos wants the takedown. Knight is fighting it off but Santos persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Knight's guard against the cage.
Santos is working Knight over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Knight pulls Santos in close to prevent any damage.
Knight's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Knight escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Santos throws a big elbow that misses.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santos's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Santos with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Santos content to stall in guard here.

Knight looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Santos passes into half guard.
Santos works his way into side control.
Knight tries to buck Santos off but Santos is having none of it.
Santos throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Knight is looking for a sweep.
Santos in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Knight struggling a bit here.

Santos stands up.

Santos has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Santos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Santos scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Knight wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Santos dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Santos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Santos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Knight's face as Santos controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santos misses with the ground and pound.
Knight taking punishment in the form of punches.
Knight manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Santos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Knight is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santos's back!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Knight is really struggling to control Santos but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Gabriel Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Santos keeps trying to improve his position.

Santos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Santos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Knight haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Patricia Knight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Santos is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Knight has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Santos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Knight is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Santos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
