PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steph Curry (ranked 2627 p4p, 305 weight class) and Adlan Aukhadov (ranked 2936 p4p, 331 weight class). Curry comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aukhadov throws a head kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Curry misses the target.
Curry sets himself, and Aukhadov steps forward looking for the clinch! Curry avoids it this time.
Aukhadov fakes the leg kick and cracks Curry in the body.
Aukhadov shoots in for a takedown but Curry shows good takedown defense.
Curry wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Aukhadov throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Aukhadov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Curry's waist but Curry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aukhadov off to one side.

Curry uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Aukhadov has time to react.
We've been hearing reports that Curry has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Aukhadov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Curry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Aukhadov has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Curry is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Aukhadov.

After the fight, Steph Curry was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
