Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cody Myres (ranked 1978 p4p, 247 weight class) and Scott Lagrange (ranked 1983 p4p, 249 weight class). The key to victory for Cody Myres has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lagrange fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Myres sprawls well initially but Lagrange persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lagrange winds up and cracks Myres with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lagrange connects with a nice short shot to Myres's temple.

Myres has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lagrange is on him like a limpet, forcing Myres back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Myres is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lagrange is controlling him.

Lagrange throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Myres tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lagrange is in Myres's guard.

Myres wriggles free and stands up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lagrange is defended easily by Myres.
