Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jon McGregor (ranked 5142 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Mcallum (ranked 23584 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent Mcallum is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon McGregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Kent Mcallum!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcallum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McGregor tries to clinch but Mcallum is having none of it.
Mcallum is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Mcallum.
Mcallum thuds his shin into the meat of McGregor's side.

and Mcallum counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mcallum.

Mcallum pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

McGregor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

McGregor goes for a double leg but Mcallum avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcallum continues to drive forward.
And Mcallum tries to counter it with a takedown but McGregor pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon McGregor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Despite the aggression on Mcallum's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

McGregor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcallum sprawls well. Mcallum wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGregor gets slowly back to his feet.

Oh McGregor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

McGregor is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mcallum gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Mcallum rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McGregor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGregor jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
McGregor throws a right and a left that Mcallum avoids nicely.

McGregor takes a kick to the side of the head.

and Mcallum moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McGregor tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

and Mcallum counters with a shoot takedown. McGregor fights it but they end up in guard.

McGregor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mcallum drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGregor looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGregor looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGregor!

You can see the frustration on Mcallum's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcallum tries to buck McGregor off but McGregor is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mcallum is staying active underneath McGregor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McGregor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcallum does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon McGregor will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

A nice side step and Mcallum releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Kent Mcallum comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mcallum has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
