Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Edmonds (ranked 3827 p4p, 438 weight class) and James Corbett (ranked 6282 p4p, 548 weight class). Edmonds comes to the cage accompanied by Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as James Corbett enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Edmonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Corbett!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corbett with a poor takedown

and Edmonds moves into the clinch.
Corbett has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Edmonds avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Edmonds lands with a right to the head.
Still in the clinch, Edmonds scores with a nice short uppercut.
Corbett tries to score a body lock takedown but Edmonds shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
John Edmonds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Corbett.
Edmonds softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Corbett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Edmonds after a bit of a struggle.

Corbett is fighting off a takedown attempt but Edmonds is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Corbett to the mat. Corbett regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Edmonds stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Corbett swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Corbett looking for subs off his back but Edmonds has passed one foot through into half guard.

Corbett is defending against the submission attempts here by Edmonds.

Edmonds is taking a breather. Corbett says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Corbett is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Edmonds pulls his head out easily.
Corbett tries to get to full guard but Edmonds has control of the leg.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Edmonds moves nicely into side control.
Edmonds tries to move into full mount but can't pass Corbett's legs.

Edmonds working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Corbett manages to work his way to half guard, despite Edmonds's best efforts.

Well, if Edmonds is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Edmonds looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Edmonds seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Corbett looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Corbett wants to get back to full guard.

Edmonds moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Corbett.
Edmonds trying to control the action but Corbett is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edmonds in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Edmonds has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Corbett!

Edmonds content to control rather than advance.

That's time! Edmonds's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It looks like James Corbett has been cut.
Edmonds looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Corbett shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Edmonds to counter with a crisp jab.
Corbett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Corbett gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Edmonds counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

John Edmonds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Corbett.
Edmonds throws an overhand right that has Corbett reeling! Edmonds follows up with more punches and Corbett is out cold! This one is all over!
