The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
HC throws a right and a left that both miss.
Honda is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
HC connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Reece HC seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

HC moves into range and clinches up with Honda.

And Honda tries to counter it with a takedown but HC pushes his down on his head and steps out.

HC lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
HC rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Honda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
HC connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

HC moves into the clinch successfully.

HC pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
HC uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Honda needs to keep his hands up - HC had a free shot at his head there.
HC misses with a double jab.

HC connects with a body shot that sends Honda's belly button to the back.
HC scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Honda is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

HC tries to close the distance and clinch up but Honda swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Honda changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

HC feints with a jab and clips Honda right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Honda is sent crashing into the canvas and HC leaps in for the kill! Honda tries to get to his feet but HC is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Honda is in need of a savior and steps in!
