Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between James Penn (ranked 2525 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky Yip (ranked 2217 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn's entrance music is Everything in its right place. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 8 losses; James Penn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Franky Yip!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Penn dives in and grabs Yip's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yip pushes down on Penn's head and hops out.
Penn shoots in for a double leg but Yip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Yip gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Penn is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

We've been hearing good reports from Penn's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
