Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terrell Kerr (ranked 24240 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Elder (ranked 5165 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrell Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Elder!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elder scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kerr wants to control but Elder postures up.
Elder remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elder is trying to get an arm triangle but Kerr is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Kerr's face as Elder controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elder tries to advance to mount but Kerr denies him.

Elder working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Elder tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Elder has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Elder swings around for an armbar but Kerr sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Elder's guard.

Kerr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Elder dives on top into guard.

Elder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kerr is trying to keep Elder in close.

Elder engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Elder postures up and lands a big shot to Kerr's brow.
Elder trying to control the position from guard on top but Kerr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elder wants to control from the top but Kerr keeps moving.
Elder controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kerr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Elder is one step ahead there.
Elder wants to pass the guard but Kerr is keeping the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Elder is pushing down on Kerr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kerr is fighting to maintain full guard but Elder has managed to sneak the leg through.

Elder lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Elder controlling the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kerr is trying to control but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Elder dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Elder feints and as Kerr raises his hands in defense, Elder changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kerr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Elder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kerr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Elder is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Elder accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Elder wants to control from the top but Kerr keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elder is looking to stand up but Kerr won't let him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Elder throws a leg kick

and Kerr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Elder won't be happy with that.

Kerr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kerr wants to stand but Elder has his arm trapped.
Elder is trying to control Kerr's posture but Kerr avoids it.
Elder tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kerr tries to move into full mount but can't pass Elder's legs.

Kerr is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elder has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kerr tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Kerr goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Elder rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kerr's guard! Nice work there by Elder!

Elder landing some decent shots from guard.
Elder controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bob Elder has got the better of the ground game so far.
Elder's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Elder is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Elder drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kerr dives on top into guard.

Elder is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Elder wants to stand and escape but Kerr is having none of it.

Kerr drops back, looking for a kneebar! Elder looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Elder looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Elder!

Elder taking a break here but Kerr is having none of it and regains half guard.

Bob Elder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Elder bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kerr is not content to let Elder control the position.
Kerr is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Kerr trying to remain calm as Elder controls from the top position.

Kerr is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Elder off and has taken his back!
Elder is trying to remain composed but Kerr is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Kerr is looking for the choke from the back position but Elder is controlling his hands well.
Kerr gets his hands free as Elder looks to control.
Kerr misses with an elbow to the head.
Elder trying to control the hands but Kerr breaks the grip.
Elder tries to escape the position.

Kerr is trying to stick to Elder's back but Elder is turning into Kerr. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kerr's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Elder.
Elder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Elder won't allow Kerr to sweep him here.

Elder has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kerr is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kerr looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Elder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kerr keeping moving, preventing Elder from controlling successfully.
Elder looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

I would just about give that final round to Bob Elder.
Well Elder has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
