The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palboa tries to bum rush Higgs with a series of wild strikes but Higgs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Higgs dives in and grabs Palboa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Palboa pushes down on Higgs's head and hops out.

Higgs looking to score a takedown here. Palboa is defending well but Higgs drives through and ends up in Palboa's guard.

Higgs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Higgs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Palboa is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Higgs drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Higgs seems to have locked his on tight now - Palboa screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Higgs, as he picks up the win!
