The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyon blocks a head kick by Smith.
Dyon drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smith sprawls and moves away.
Frank Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith misses with a hook to the body

and Dyon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dyon slips nicely into half guard.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dyon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dyon wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
