Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jackson (ranked 4325 p4p, 478 weight class) and Jake Ruth (ranked 4477 p4p, 487 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruth changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Ruth manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Ruth, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ruth throws a leg kick but Jackson sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Jackson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ruth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ruth on his heels. He'll look to pass Ruth's guard now, I'm sure.
