PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson James (ranked 570 p4p, 77 weight class) and App Test (ranked 1901 p4p, 236 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Test throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and Test finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Test is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

My spies in Temp Spar Gym inform me that Test has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Test postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! James is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Test, into his guard.

James has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Test has momentary wrist control but James slips an elbow through the middle.
