Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu Jitsu: Vai Finaliza!. Magomedov has chosen Evangelion OST - The Beast II as his entrance music. Marat Magomedov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ramon Gracie's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie moves into range and clinches up with Magomedov.
Gracie will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Magomedov up against the cage.
Gracie tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Magomedov's elbow.
Gracie takes a shot to the head.
Magomedov lands a shoulder strike.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Magomedov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magomedov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gracie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Magomedov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Magomedov and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

An inside leg kick from Gracie misses.

Magomedov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Magomedov tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Magomedov misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.

Magomedov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gracie is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magomedov is looking to clinch.
Gracie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Magomedov is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Magomedov can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Magomedov manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts.
Magomedov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Gracie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Magomedov's face.

I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
