Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Avery (ranked 3719 p4p, 343 weight class) and Marcelinho Lima (ranked 2341 p4p, 269 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelinho Lima!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

It looks like Jackson Avery has been cut.

Lima works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Avery ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Avery thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Avery tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Avery has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

I would just about give that final round to Marcelinho Lima.
I think Lima has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
