Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Franky Yip (ranked 2260 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Lee (ranked 12785 p4p, 0 weight class). Franky Yip is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Franky Yip! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 5 losses; Freddy Lee!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Lee tries for a takedown but Yip sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yip stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.
Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yip swivels and escapes.
Franky Yip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Lee.
Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yip is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Yip circles away and we're back to standing.
Yip appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Lee shoots in and drives through. Yip sprawls well.
Lee shoots in for a double leg but Yip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Yip drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lee sprawls and moves away.
Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yip sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yip moves into range and clinches up with Lee.

Lee drops down looking for an ankle pick but Yip pulls his leg out and moves away.

Yip stops a takedown attempt from Lee.
Yip goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lee prevents it.

Yip has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lee regains guard immediately.

Yip trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yip is really struggling to control Lee but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Lee has control of Yip's left arm, preventing Yip from doing any damage.
Yip pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yip trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yip stands and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee is trying to get an arm triangle but Yip is defending well.
My spies in Steel's Grappling Penn inform me that Lee has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Lee wants to control but Yip is keeping him busy.

Yip regains half guard.
Lee tries to pass the half guard into mount. Yip knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Yip is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Yip avoid being mounted?

Lee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
