Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evan Better (ranked 3573 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Tracz (ranked 4648 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Better!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Janusz Tracz!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tracz tries for a takedown but Better circles away easily
and Better counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Better stuns Tracz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nice jab there from Better.

Better manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tracz on his heels. He'll look to pass Tracz's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Better in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Better has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tracz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Better slips nicely into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tracz can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Better is keen to just control but Tracz is a slippery customer.

Better is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tracz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Better.
Tracz tries to roll over but Better keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Better trying to mount his opponent but Tracz defends it.

Tracz is defending against the submission attempts here by Better.
Tracz tries to get to full guard but Better has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Better is taking a breather. Tracz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tracz trying to control but Better postures up.
Tracz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Better. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Better not doing much here.
Tracz holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Better trying to control the action but Tracz is working from the bottom.
Better working Tracz over with strikes.
Better wants to control but Tracz is keeping him busy.

Better looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Better stalling.

Better is trying to work for a kimura but Tracz is defending well.
Better will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Better is trying to control. Tracz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Better passes to side control.
Tracz can't do much from the bottom here.

Better is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Tracz is trying to escape and Better transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Tracz is forced to tap! Nice work there by Better! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Evan Better!
A relieved looking Evan Better thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
