Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kalevi Koski (ranked 895 p4p, 42 weight class) and Tobias Marshall (ranked 1740 p4p, 78 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tobias Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koski drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Marshall is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Koski with a body shot.

Marshall's coach down at Tōshi was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marshall's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalevi Koski will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looked like Koski was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Marshall.

Marshall looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marshall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Koski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Marshall takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Koski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Well Koski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
