Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Omega (ranked 4836 p4p, 508 weight class) and King Yelats (ranked 7819 p4p, 627 weight class). King Yelats is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Chris Omega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Yelats!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yelats tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Omega swivels and escapes.
Omega digs a good hook to Yelats's body.
Yelats is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like King Yelats has been cut.
Omega goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Yelats shoots in for a takedown but Omega shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Omega doesn't manage to clinch there - Yelats circles away.
Yelats slaps away a takedown attempt from Omega, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Omega working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yelats.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Omega is working an open guard so Yelats takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Yelats has closed the distance and engaged Omega in a clinch.
Yelats keeps control of Omega as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Omega throws a knee to the head but misses.
Omega definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Omega makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Omega takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Yelats breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Omega fails in his attempt to clinch.
Yelats throws a lazy uppercut
and Omega counters with a body kick that stops Yelats in his tracks momentarily.
King Yelats seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yelats drives through with a takedown into Omega's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Omega is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Omega is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Yelats is in close to Omega's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Yelats works over Omega with some ground and pound from guard.
Omega is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yelats is controlling him.

Yelats postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Yelats has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yelats connects with a couple of short punches.
Yelats is in close to Omega's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Yelats slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Yelats cracks Omega with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Yelats working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Omega tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yelats wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Yelats scores with punches from side control.

Omega is working to avoid the ground and pound but Yelats connects with a decent elbow.


Omega is rocked!

Yelats decides to stand back up.
Yelats avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Omega tries to clinch up but Yelats circles away and keeps his distance.

Omega gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yelats to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Yelats is standing up over Omega. Omega looks to escape but Yelats dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Yelats dominated that round.
The cut man is working on King Yelats's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Yelats has a takedown stuffed.

Yelats closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Yelats has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fighters are battling for position here. Omega manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Yelats working some strikes from top position.

Omega working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yelats doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yelats manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yelats working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Omega's head.
Yelats is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Yelats is pushing down on Omega's leg trying to pass to half guard. Omega is fighting to maintain full guard but Yelats has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yelats working Omega over with strikes.
Yelats landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Yelats stops Omega from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yelats is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Omega!
Yelats with a couple of short strikes.
Oh Omega is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yelats postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Omega in real trouble here! The ref calls for Omega to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
