Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jambe De Bois (ranked 1690 p4p, 245 weight class) and Giampaolo Turturro (ranked 583 p4p, 95 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jambe De Bois!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Giampaolo Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Bois scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice defenses there by Turturro.

Turturro clinches up with De Bois and pushes him back against the cage.
De Bois misses with the head strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for De Bois.
Turturro is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables De Bois to keep the fight standing.
Turturro jumps guard but De Bois stands there with Turturro around his waist. Turturro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
De Bois swings wildly with an uppercut but Turturro uses good head movement to avoid it.
De Bois has a couple of punches blocked by Turturro.
Turturro tries to pull guard but De Bois holds him up against the cage and eventually Turturro drops back down to his feet.
Jambe De Bois has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giampaolo Turturro.
De Bois swings wildly with an uppercut but Turturro uses good head movement to avoid it.

Turturro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turturro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Bois doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Bois manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Turturro wants to sweep here but De Bois controlling him for the moment.

Turturro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. De Bois is aware though and is defending well.
De Bois knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turturro on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Turturro is on top in guard.

Turturro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
De Bois is pulling down on Turturro's head to control his posture.

Turturro drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Bois dives on top into guard.


Turturro pushes a forearm under De Bois's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, De Bois is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Giampaolo Turturro! Giampaolo Turturro retains his light heavyweight title!
Giampaolo Turturro was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
