The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theeh throws a head kick that misses
and Figis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Popeye Theeh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Figis scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
No joy there for Figis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Theeh shoots in for a takedown but Figis shows good takedown defense.
Figis lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Theeh backs up against the cage.

Figis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Figis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Theeh fails in his attempt to clinch.
Theeh shoots in looking for a takedown. Figis tries to sprawl out of it but Theeh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Figis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cyril Figis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Popeye Theeh.

Figis wants to get back to striking at distance but Theeh won't allow it.

Theeh keeps control of Figis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Figis is trying to push Theeh away but Theeh has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Theeh misses with a takedown attempt - Figis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Figis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Figis slaps away a takedown attempt from Theeh, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Theeh tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Figis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Figis's corner calls for a 1-2. Figis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Figis lands a jab to Theeh's midsection.

As Theeh looks to move away, Figis throws a big counter combo but Theeh just gets out of the way.
Figis closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Figis lands a nice looking body shot.
Figis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Theeh eats them both and turns towards Figis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Theeh forces Figis back against the cage and clinches.

Figis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Figis is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It's a brutal combination of punches from Figis! Theeh is backing up but he can't get away as Figis lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Theeh and ends the fight. Great knockout.
