Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Sanchez (ranked 7269 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Gallagher (ranked 5180 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Benjamin Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Gallagher!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gallagher gets the takedown into side control.
Gallagher controlling the position from side mount.
Gallagher gets to mount! Sanchez was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Sanchez tries to hold on but Gallagher postures up.
Gallagher tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gallagher trying to control but Sanchez is having none of it.

Gallagher goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sanchez turns into him and now he's in Gallagher's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gallagher tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gallagher holds on and takes a little breather.
Sanchez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gallagher uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sanchez blocks a head kick by Gallagher.

Gallagher decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gallagher passes the guard and advances to mount!
Sanchez is desperately trying to improve his position but Gallagher has a good base and remains in mount.

Gallagher goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sanchez turns into him and now he's in Gallagher's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gallagher is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sanchez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gallagher has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sanchez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Sanchez has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.

Gallagher decides to pull guard.

Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gallagher pulls Sanchez in close to his closed guard and prevents Sanchez from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gallagher is on top in guard.

Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gallagher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gallagher has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gallagher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gallagher's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gallagher throws a leg kick that is checked
and Sanchez counters with a nice kick to the body.

Gallagher drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gallagher misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gallagher decides to stand back up.

Gallagher looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Sanchez manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez is looking to clinch.

Gallagher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sanchez was covering up waiting for the punch and Gallagher finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sanchez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gallagher wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sanchez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gallagher has picked Sanchez up and slammed him! Sanchez can't keep hold of the triangle and Gallagher manages to pass to side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gallagher is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sanchez has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Gallagher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Gallagher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sanchez sprawls well initially but Gallagher persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gallagher decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Gallagher circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sanchez drives through and clinches with Gallagher against the cage.

Gallagher seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gallagher wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gallagher is staying tight to Sanchez's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Sanchez is not content to let Gallagher control the position.
Sanchez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Robert Gallagher has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Gallagher looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gallagher is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sanchez's shoulder. That is not cool.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gallagher tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gallagher has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sanchez wants to control but Gallagher postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gallagher rushes Sanchez and presses him up against the cage.

Gallagher manages to pull guard.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gallagher is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.
Benjamin Sanchez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Robert Gallagher is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gallagher pulls Sanchez in to control the position.

Robert Gallagher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gallagher winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
