PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jedd Jacob (ranked 5474 p4p, 177 weight class) and Kyle Vluehorn (ranked 6232 p4p, 81 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacob throws a hook but Vluehorn blocks it.
And Vluehorn tries to counter it with a takedown but Jacob pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Vluehorn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vluehorn throws a sloppy head kick and Jacob moves out of range easily.

Jacob bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Jacob lands a nice looking kick to the body. Vluehorn takes a step back to recover.

Jacob looks to score with a jab to the body but Vluehorn is just out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vluehorn is defended easily by Jacob.
Vluehorn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jacob can pounce on him.

And Vluehorn tries to counter it with a takedown but Jacob pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Vluehorn gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jacob pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jacob keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like Jacob was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Vluehorn.
Vluehorn moves in looking to clinch but Jacob pushes him off.
Jacob goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Kyle Vluehorn has been cut.

Vluehorn closes the distance and clinches.

Jacob has a couple of punches blocked by Vluehorn.
Jacob lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jacob goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Vluehorn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vluehorn tries to clinch up but Jacob circles away and keeps his distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jacob. Vluehorn does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vluehorn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jacob misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jacob dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vluehorn. That did some damage!
Jacob throws an overhand right that lands on Vluehorn's shoulder, as Vluehorn tries to avoid the shot.

and Vluehorn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jacob thinking.

Vluehorn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vluehorn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jedd Jacob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Vluehorn.
Jacob swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vluehorn is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Jacob fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vluehorn manages to avoid it.

Vluehorn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jacob.

Vluehorn tries to clinch but Jacob is having none of it.

Vluehorn moves in looking to clinch but Jacob pushes him off.

Jacob swings for the body but Vluehorn moves out of range.
Vluehorn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jacob swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vluehorn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jacob manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Jacob makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Vluehorn really felt that one!
Jacob throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Vluehorn crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
