TWGC 24 (135lbs, D4): Finals - Round 2 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Takeshi Sendou (ranked 7311 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Johnson (ranked 7628 p4p, 0 weight class). Sendou comes into the arena with Skillet - Feel Invincible blaring out of the sound system. Johnson has chosen The Clash - This Is England as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Takeshi Sendou! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 4 losses; Ben Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Johnson instigates a clinch.

Sendou gets control of Johnson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sendou will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sendou has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sendou is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.

Sendou is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Johnson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Johnson for a finish.

After the fight, Takeshi Sendou was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
