Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeromy Beck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Speights!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Speights closes the distance and clinches.

Beck pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Speights throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Speights pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beck is keeping the position for now.
Speights throws a big elbow that misses.

Speights gets to his feet - Beck follows without any prompting.

Speights closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Beck's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speights looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Speights stands up from Beck's guard - Speights perhaps looking for a knockout.
Speights shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beck fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Speights changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Speights closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Speights.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Speights manages to pull guard.
Speights is adopting a defensive guard.

Beck decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Speights darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Speights uses his free foot to push down on Beck's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Beck.
Speights lands a heavy elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Speights controlling the pace for now.
Speights unloads with some shots from mount but Beck bucks and avoids them well.
Speights takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Speights lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Speights sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Speights has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Beck's face.


Beck is rocked!


It looks like Jeromy Beck has been cut.

Speights quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Speights but it's paid off an Beck is forced to tap! Nice work by Speights.
