Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Nicky Ryan (ranked 21938 p4p, 121 weight class) and Otto Tjack (ranked 2551 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Otto Tjack enters the cage!

In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 6 losses; Nicky Ryan! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 0 losses; Otto Tjack!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Ryan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tjack pinned against the cage. Tjack gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tjack is taking a breather. Ryan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan wants to control but Tjack is keeping busy.

Tjack is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ryan sees it coming and defends easily.

Tjack with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Tjack seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Ryan has recovered full guard.

Tjack is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ryan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ryan has escaped and now he's on top!

Ryan stands and throws Tjack's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Tjack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ryan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryan tries to get to full guard but Tjack has control of the leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tjack in particular looking to stall.

Tjack is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ryan defends it well.
Ryan wants to control but Tjack is keeping busy.

Tjack takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ryan tries to roll over but Tjack keeps him under control.
Tjack wants to pass to mount but Ryan is defending the position.

Ryan trying to hold on to Tjack's head to control him but Tjack postures up.
Tjack not doing much here.
Tjack uses his free foot to push down on Ryan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ryan.

Ryan is working to get back to half guard.
Tjack can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ryan is looking to escape.

Tjack with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Ryan tries to hold on but Tjack postures up.

Ryan wants to control but Tjack is having none of it.
Tjack prevents Ryan from getting the reversal.

Tjack goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ryan is on top in guard.

Ryan wants to control from the top but Tjack keeps moving.

Tjack pushes a forearm under Ryan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ryan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Otto Tjack!
Otto Tjack is the new bantamweight champion!
A very excited looking Otto Tjack rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
