Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Speights!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alessandro Marrano!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speights misses with a takedown attempt - Marrano sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Marrano wants to counter with a clinch but Speights pushes him away.
Marrano clinches up with Speights and pushes him back against the cage.
Marrano tries to pull guard but Speights holds him up against the cage and eventually Marrano drops back down to his feet.
Speights working hard to break the clinch.
Speights breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Speights shoots in but Marrano avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speights closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Marrano's guard.
Marrano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Speights doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Speights manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Marrano looking for a triangle here. Speights is fighting it but it looks tight! Marrano pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Speights is tapping out - this one is all over!
