Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bat Drew (ranked 6833 p4p, 199 weight class) and Just Fight (ranked 3315 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bat Drew !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Just Fight!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Drew , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fight is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fight looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fight throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Drew 's head.
Drew darts in looking for a takedown but Fight gets double underhooks and turns Drew into the cage.
Fight shoots in but Drew avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drew throws a chopping leg kick but Fight manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Fight tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fight is defended easily by Drew .

Drew takes the fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fight pulls guard successfully.
Drew has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Fight has a closed guard, preventing Drew from standing up.

Fight looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Drew has picked Fight up and slammed him! Fight can't keep hold of the triangle and Drew manages to pass to side control!
Fight pushes Drew away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Drew gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Drew in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Fight is trying to control Drew 's posture but Drew avoids it.

Drew stands up and beckons Fight to his feet.
Fight fails with a takedown attempt.
Bat Drew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Just Fight.
Fight is looking to clinch but Drew is avoiding it.

Fight clinches up against the cage.
Fight misses with a punch to the body.
Fight has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Drew after a bit of a struggle.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Fight.

Drew is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Fight breaks the clinch.
Fight closes the distance looking to clinch
and Drew counters with a series of strikes. Fight will be more careful next time no doubt.

Fight forces Drew back against the cage and clinches.
Drew has Fight pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fight manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Drew is breathing heavily.

Fight breaks the clinch.
Fight fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Drew closes the distance and clinches up with Fight, looking for a takedown. Drew pushes Fight against the cage but Fight circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fight fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fight wants to clinch.
Fight slaps away a takedown attempt from Drew , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fight misses with a takedown attempt - Drew sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Drew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Drew thinks about countering with a body kick.
Fight tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drew sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fight somewhat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fight misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Just Fight will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Fight clinches.
Drew takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Bat Drew has been cut.

Fight breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Drew throws a right hand that Fight ducks under and follows up with a left that Fight also avoids with ease.
Drew tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fight defends well and Drew ends up having to push Fight into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Drew slaps away a takedown attempt from Fight, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Drew tries to close the distance and clinch but Fight swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fight looking to score a takedown here. Drew is defending well but Fight drives through and ends up in Drew 's guard.

Drew scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bat Drew is winning the standup battle so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fight shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Drew defends it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fight or perhaps it was just good defense by Drew , which made it look bad.
Bat Drew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Just Fight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A head kick misses from Fight.
Fight is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Drew is looking to clinch.
Fight shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drew sprawls well. Drew wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fight gets slowly back to his feet.
Drew darts in looking for a takedown but Fight gets double underhooks and turns Drew into the cage.

Fight fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drew , pushing him back against the cage.

Drew is trying to stall.

Fight pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Drew takes a jab right on the kisser.
Drew pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Drew gets tackled into the cage by Fight. Fight maintains the clinch.
Drew jumps guard but Fight stands there with Drew around his waist. Drew gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Fight with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Fight creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Drew 's defenses.

Fight escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fight tries to clinch but Drew moves out of range.
Drew tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fight swivels and escapes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fight clinches.
Fight wants to take the fight to the mat but Drew manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Fight looking to throw knees to the head but Drew is blocking nicely.
Fight lands with a left to the head.
Fight is stalling here.

Fight breaks from the clinch.
Drew tries to close the distance and clinch but Fight swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fight lands a front kick.

Fight gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Fight has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fight manages to break the clinch.
Fight wants to clinch up but Drew keeps it at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fight lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A punch combination from Drew misses.
Drew sets himself, and Fight steps forward looking for the clinch! Drew avoids it this time.
Drew keeps the fight on the outside.
Fight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Drew as he jumps to the side.
Fight throws a right and a left that both miss.

Fight shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fight was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fight in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Drew is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
