Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xyryx Ignacio (ranked 5278 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grappa Bappa (ranked 4215 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Xyryx Ignacio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Grappa Bappa!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bappa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bappa with the counter takedown but Ignacio avoids it easily.
Ignacio tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ignacio swings for the body but Bappa moves out of range.
Ignacio lands with an uppercut that bounces Bappa off the cage and back into range.
Sloppy strikes from Ignacio. Those never looked like landing.
Ignacio misses with a left hand
and Bappa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ignacio!
Ignacio tries to bench press Bappa off him but Bappa keeps the position.

Let's hope that Bappa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ignacio is looking to regain half guard here but Bappa keeps moving and retains side control.
Bappa content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bappa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like Bappa might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ignacio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ignacio explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Ignacio gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Bappa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ignacio's guard.
Bappa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ignacio throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bappa stands and throws Ignacio's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ignacio is breathing heavily.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Bappa tries to advance to mount but can't.
Bappa remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Ignacio is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bappa is controlling him well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bappa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ignacio on his heels. He'll look to pass Ignacio's guard now, I'm sure.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Bappa.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yet more stalling tactics from Bappa.

Ignacio gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Grappa Bappa has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
More stalling from Bappa.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grappa Bappa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Ignacio keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bappa shoots for a double leg takedown but Ignacio sprawls well. He's pushed Bappa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ignacio fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bappa ducks under a wild hook from Ignacio.
Bappa tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Xyryx Ignacio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ignacio. Bappa does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bappa is pushing down on Ignacio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ignacio is fighting to maintain full guard but Bappa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Well, if Bappa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bappa is looking for a kimura but Ignacio is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bappa to get the leverage.
Still in half guard, Bappa seems content to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bappa feints and as Ignacio raises his hands in defense, Bappa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bappa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bappa works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bappa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Ignacio is trying to get back to full guard.

Xyryx Ignacio has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Grappa Bappa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
